Only one flaw with your Type45 plan: The T45s aren’t BMD capable (yet), excellent bit of kit against Cruise Missiles and Anti-Ship missiles but not ballistics. They would however make a valuable contribution to maintaining the Air Picture and controlling Defensive Counter Air missions by fighters overhead, and could be used to engage drones but realistically there are better assets in the arsenal for that.
We had a fleet of anti-mine ships in the Gulf until a few years ago. Along with a lot of defence budgets, they came to the end of their operational lives and were scrapped. Where are their replacements? Along with a lot of other defence options they were not replaced. The minimum defence budget barely funded 100,000 soldiers, sailors and airmen. A sorry end to 14 years of Tory rule.
The sad state of the UK can be seen in the planned Shia march where the participants beat themselves, this time also in support of Khamenei as a memorial march.... Such a march should be stopped and the IRGC should be recognised as a terror organisation. Based on the missiles from Iran to surrounding muslim countries, it doesn't need much to image what IR would have done without hesitation if it would have been in possession of nuclear warheads
I'm sure I read last year that Iran has completed the technology transfer to Russia for the shahed drones, meaning that the ones Russia fires at Ukraine are almost all made in Russia now (specifically at the Yelabuga drone factory in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone in Tatarstan) and have been for a year or two. A lot of the workers there are women trafficked from West Africa. So I'm not sure that Russia has really "lost its supplier" or that current events in Iran will have much impact on Russia's ability to continue producing these drones, unfortunately.
